Copper town
by Christian Marcum

“If America could be, once again, a nation of self-reliant farmers, craftsmen, hunters, ranchers, and artists, then the rich would have little power to dominate others. Neither to serve nor to rule: That was the American dream.”
― Edward Abbey
Copper Town is a photographic monograph consisting of individual town portraits in the state of Arizona with populations of 500 to 75,000. Foreshadowed by the perception of the American dream, these small western towns convey the personality of what was formerly built on the shoulders of the local blue-collar citizens.
Each town portrait consists of 45 photographs that are curated into a singular narrative.
